CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The defending national champion and U SPORTS ranked No. 1 X-Women rugby team earned their second consecutive lopsided victory in AUS competition this season, this time a 90-0 win over the UPEI Panthers.

The X-Women scored tries right off the start of the game, leaving the Panthers in the dust for majority of the game. It was a clear cut win for the Subway player of the game June Beals, and her team on Saturday at the MacAdam field. Scoring one try for StFX, her offensive strength and speed was a major contributing factor for the X-Women.

Joanna Alphonso, Sara McCarron, Carolyn Williams, Sophia Parker, Miranda SampleJaelei Meyer, Sammy Nadeau and Sara Hoerig each scored one try for the X-Women. Danielle Franada contributed to their win with two tries and nine conversions while Carleigh Walters added in three tries.

The Panthers would see no offence against the tough StFX team from any of their top players, resulting in no marks on the game sheet.

Next weekend the Panthers are back at home on Saturday, September 23rd with Saint Mary's in town, while StFX will see Acadia on home soil for a 2 p.m. start, also on Saturday.
