Halifax, NS – The CIS ranked No. 6 X-Women rugby team (4-1) defeated the Saint Mary's Huskies (0-5) by a 66-5 score in AUS rugby action Tuesday evening at Huskies Stadium.
The defending AUS and CIS champions led 32-0 at halftime.
Eight different X-Women scored tries in the game, including Tasha McKenzie (Indian Brook, NS), Amelia Hatfield (Halifax, NS), June Beals (North Preston, NS) and Hanna Morten (Duncan, BC) who all scored two tries each.
Single tries were scored by Alyssa MacDonald (Windsor, NS), Nicole Tower (Bass River, NS), Kathleen Haggerty (Orleans, ON) and Joanne Callow (Kanata, ON).
Rounding out the scoring for the X-Women was Jacqui Salvatore (Scarborough, ON) who kicked three conversions.
The lone Saint Mary's try was scored by Jill Green (Halifax, NS).
The Huskies will wrap up regular season play on Saturday when they travel to UPEI for a 2:00 pm game against the Panthers (1-4).
The X-Women's last AUS regular season game takes place in Wolfville, NS on Sunday afternoon, October 18th when they will visit the first place Acadia Axewomen (5-0). Game time is 2:00 pm.
