X-Women roll to fifth consecutive shutout

Nine different players scored tries as the StFX X-Women (5-1) cruised to a 111-0 victory over the visiting Saint Mary's Huskies Wednesday night at Oland Stadium in Antigonish.
 
It was also the fifth consecutive shutout for the CIS ranked No. 6 X-Women, who have outscored their opponents 481-0 over that stretch.
 
X-Women freshman Jaelei Meyer, who had three second-half tries, was named Subway player of the match.
 
Second-year fly half Sabrina McDaid opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a try, her first of three, and a conversion to give the X-Women a 7-0.
 
The blue and white extended the advantage quickly, leading to 59-0 advantage at halftime.
 
Vanessa Duffley, with two, along with Emma Taylor, Lauren Agnew, Miranda Sample and

Danielle Robb, scored tries in the first 40 minutes.
 
McDaid chipped in seven conversions in the opening half.
 
In the second half, the X-Women continued to thrive offensively, outscoring the Huskies 52-0.
 
Along with the Meyer hat-trick, Taylor added two more tries, while Agnew scored her second of the match.
 
Freshmen Cyra Humber and Erica Cranston also scored tries for the X-Women.
 
Duffley booted six conversions in the second half.  
 
The X-Women return to action Friday, Oct. 4, when they host the Saint Thomas Tommies (0-5) at Oland Stadium.
 
Opening kick-off the StFX Homecoming 2013 match-up is set for 7 p.m.
