Rugby X-Women handle Huskies

The CIS ranked No. 6 X-Women improved to 2-1 on the season with a commanding 84-0 shutout over the Saint Mary Huskies Sunday afternoon in Halifax. The Huskies drop to 1-2.

The X-Women got out to an early 15-0 lead in the game and built it up to 41-0 at halftime.

Second year hooker Catharine MacKeigan scored three tries for the X-Women, while fellow sophomore Sabrina McDaid racked up 24 points with two tries and seven converts.

Lauren Agnew and Sara Gandy each scored two tries a piece, while single tries were scored by Zahra Batool, Jaelei Meyer, Beckie Clark, Carolyn Stewart and Brianna Allison.

Next on the schedule for the X-Women is a single game in Charlottetown on Saturday, Sept. 21st when they will play the third place UPEI Panthers (1-1).
