Coach Synishin enters his 14th season behind the bench as head coach of the X-Women, after a one-year hiatus in 2014-15. He has led the X-Women to five AUS titles (2012, 2011, 2005, 2006 and 2008). He led the X-Women to a 23-1-0 first place finish in 2012-13, along with an AUS title and CIS bronze medal.

David has led the X-Women to 13 AUS playoff appearances and eight CIS championship appearances. Their CIS bronze medal came after Coach Synishin guided the 2010-11 X-Women to a CIS championship silver medal, the first ever national medal in team history and best result of an AUS team. Synishin led the X-Women to a 24-0-0 undefeated season in 2010-11 and another in 2007-08 with a 21-0 conference record.

Synishin was the assistant coach of the X-Women for three years prior to his head coaching stint, and he played with the hockey X-Men for four seasons, graduating in 1992. David is a four-time AUS Coach of the Year. He and his wife Suzi currently reside in Antigonish country with their three children.
