Bryan Smith is in his 5th season as an assistant coach with the X-Women program, having spent seven years prior as a power skating coach with the X squad. He has previous coaching experience as a Skills Coach with the Hockey Nova Scotia U18 female program, and was the head coach for two seasons and with Fundy Highland female bantam AA team, winning provincial silver and gold medals, along with an Atlantic championship silver medal in 2019. Bryan has extensive coaching experience with the Fundy Highland female league and Antigonish Minor Hockey with various age levels, dating back to 2009. He was awarded the 2017 Jacques Comeau Hockey NS Coach of the Year award. A local physical education teacher, Bryan is a two-time StFX graduate with 2010 MEd and a 1998 BSc Phys Ed degrees and was a former player himself with the Antigonish Junior B Bulldogs.
