Fourth year X-Women hockey defense Lindsey Donovan recently wrapped up a stint with the U SPORTS women's hockey all-stars roster at Hockey Canada's Summer Showcase in Calgary.

Donovan was part of the U SPORTS all-star squad that competed against a pair of teams from the national women's development team selection camp, along with games against Japan and France. The U SPORTS all-stars skated to a 2-3 record at the 10 day event that took place Aug, 2-11 at the Markin MacPhail Centre - WinSport Arena in Calgary.

This was the second consecutive year that the StFX arts student from Miramichi. N.B. was named to the roster, and this year Donovan served as an assistant captain.

In game action, the U SPORTS all-stars started the week with a pair of victories over Japan (4-1) and France (2-1), before bowing out to a 5-3 loss to the Canadian Gold team. They then dropped a pair of overtime games to the Canadian Red team (4-3) and to Japan (4-3) to close out the week.

Donovan is a two-time U SPORTS first team All-Canadian defenseman with the X-Women as she lead all U SPORTS defense in scoring last season with 25 points (4 goals, 21 assists). Joining her on the all-star team were fellow AUS athletes defenseman Alexandra Woods from St. Thomas, and forwards Miranda Hatt and Shae Demale from Saint Mary's, while Moncton's Marc-André Côté served as head coach and Mount Allison's Terry Rhindress was an assistant coach.
