The StFX X-Women (11-2-1) dropped a pair of road games in AUS hockey action over the weekend.

Sunday afternoon, freshman defense Nicole Corcoran had the lone goal in a 3-1 loss to the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (6-8-10). Daly Oddy assisted as Corcoran's goal came 15:16 of the third period to pull the X-Women to 2-1.

The Aigles Bleues established a 2-0 lead after a second period goal by Natacha Bergeron (1:34) and a third period goal by Marika Lacroix (5:16).

Amelie Lariviere rounded out the Moncton scoring with an empty net goal with 10 seconds left in the game.

Emilie Bouchard earned the win in nets for the Aigles with 21 saves while Sojung Shin was tagged with the loss for StFX.

Ferran Brown, with the lone goal of the shootout, notched the game winner as the host UPEI Panthers (6-8) defeated the X-Women 3-2 Saturday afternoon in Charlottetown.

The X-Women opened the scoring on a marker from freshman Daley Oddy, who was assisted by fellow rookie Kara Power, at 5:47 of the first period.

At 6:45 of the second, Courtney Stewart tied the score on assists from Jessie Howard and Amy Mountenay.

Antigonish native Erin Brophy regained the lead for the X-Women at 17:47, on an assist from league-leading scorer Alex Normore.

Lyndsay Oakes scored the equalizer at 8:47 of the third period, which sent the game to overtime. Laura Bradley had the lone assist on the goal.

After a 10-minute overtime period solved nothing, Brown's goal provided the margin of victory in the shootout.

Brophy, Oddy and Power were unable to beat Marie-Soleil Deschenes, who earned the win for the Panthers, in the shootout.

The X-Women outshot the Panthers 33-24. Pascale Daigle made 22 saves in the loss.

The X-Women, ranked #5 in the CIS, find themselves in unfamiliar territory as they are on a three-game losing skid, dating back to their Nov. 30th loss at Saint Mary's prior to the holiday break.

StFX will look to reverse their fortunes as they return to the ice Friday, Jan. 10, when they host the Saint Thomas Tommies (6-4-4) at the Keating Centre. Game time is 7 p.m.

The blue and white will also host the rival Saint Mary's Huskies (10-3-0) Sunday, Jan. 12, beginning at 2 p.m.
