StFX quickly went ahead 4-0 after Brophy and freshman Heather Tillsley scored consecutive goals nine seconds apart in the opening two minutes of the second period.

Brophy picked up a rebound from a Kira Dube shot from the point for the X-Women's third goal then assisted on Tillsley's goal on the ensuing rush up ice. She fired the puck from the corner to the front of the net and Tillsley got her stick on it to find the back of the mesh.

The remainder of the second period was spent with several players in the penalty box as the X-Women were called for four minor infractions and the Mounties three.

Mount Allison breathed some life into their game with two quick power play goals scored 27 seconds apart.

Courtney King scored at 8:54 while on the man advantage, as she was open for a pass in front of the StFX net and beat X goaltender Sojung Shin high over the glove side.  Shelby Colton and Jennifer Dillon assisted on the play.
