Freshman Daly Oddy led the StFX X-Women (5-0) with three points, including two goals, in a 5-0 shutout over the UPEI Panthers (2-4) Sunday afternoon in AUS hockey action at the Keating Centre in Antigonish.

At 3:42 of the first period, Oddy picked the top corner on a breakaway after collecting a long pass from the StFX zone.

Alexa Normore and Schyler Campbell, also with three points apiece, assisted on the opening goal.

Just 42 seconds into the middle period, Oddy, from Normore and Campbell, made it 2-0.

Oddy tucked a pass across the crease from Normore stick side on Panther goaltender Marie Soleil Deschenes.

In the third period, the X-Women ramped up the attack, scoring three unanswered goals in cruising to victory.

At 7:41, Paige Belair banged in her own rebound after a shot from the slot. Soleil Deschenes appeared to make a stick save on the second attempt, but the referee rule it crossed the goal line. Lisa Downey recorded the lone assist.

At 15:01, Daniela Falconio re-directed a cross-ice pass from Erin Brophy on the rush. Megan Innes had the other assist.

Campbell wrapped up the scoring at 15:33, with a tip-in top corner. Normore and Oddy had the assists.

Freshman goaltender Sojung Shin made 14 saves for the shutout.

The X-Women return to action Saturday, Nov. 9, when they travel to Fredericton to face the Saint Thomas Tommies.
