Capers down X-Women 73-63

Sydney, NS – The StFX X-Women (0-3) are still in search of their first victory of the AUS season after dropping a 73-63 game to the Cape Breton Capers (1-2) on Wednesday evening.

The Capers held a 15-10 advantage after the first quarter and were up by ten points at halftime, 32-22.

The X-Women came back to outscore the home team 30-20 in the third quarter to deadlock the game after 30 minutes of play at 52-52.

The 21-11 fourth quarter in the Capers favor decided the game.

Alison Keough led Cape Breton with 27 points and added 13 rebounds for a double-double night. Hannah Brown scored 12 points off the bench and had nine rebounds.

Natasha Roach scored 10 points and had five rebounds and five assists.

Replying for the X-Women was Lindsay Lessard with 21 points and seven rebounds. Courtney Kilyk netted 17 points for the blue and white and had three assists and four steals on the night.

Kolbi Roper scored 10 and had eight rebounds.

The X-Women return to host the Acadia Axewomen (2-0) Friday night in their home opener. Tip-off is 6:00 pm at the StFX Oland Centre.
