X-Women wrap up play at DAL tourney

Halifax, NS – The X-Women wrapped up exhibition play at the Dalhousie Centennial tournament with a 71-50 loss to Saint Mary's Sunday afternoon at the Dalplex.

The Huskies held leads of 15-13 after the first quarter and 36-29 at halftime. They outscored the blue and white 35-21 in the second half en route to the win.

StFX finishes tournament play with an 0-3 record. They fell 51-48 to Dalhousie Friday night and lost to Cape Breton 72-63 on Saturday afternoon.

In Sunday's game against SMU, Lindsay Lessard was the high scorer for the X-Women with 15 points and also contributed four rebounds defensively. Courtney Kilyk scored eight and Kim Taylor netted seven points.

For the Huskies it was Kennisha-Shanice Luberisse scoring 18 points and Jenny Lewis contributing 12. Shanieka Wood scored 10 for SMU and Laura Langille had nine points and nine rebounds.

The X-Women will next see action when they open AUS regular season play on November 6th and 7th in Charlottetown, squaring off against the UPEI Panthers. They first home game is Friday, November 16th when they will host Acadia at 6:00 pm.
