Moncton, NB – The X-Women and X-Men track & field teams competed for the first time in 2017 at the Jump Start Athletics Moncton Open on Saturday afternoon at the CEPS Université de Moncton.

In the women's events, in the 60m dash (age 18-19), freshman sprinter Megan Graham placed third overall with a time of 8.21, while X-Women swept the top three placings in the 60m dash (age 20-34). Abbi Finnan placed first at 8.17, followed by Jillian Murphy (8.18) and Baillie Marcotte (8.31).
In the 300m dash (age 18-19), Emma Floris took first place with a time of 43.47, followed by teammate Graham in second at 43.81. StFX's Allie Flower was first in the 300m dash (age 20-34), clocking in with a new meet record of 42.67. Murphy was second at 43.47.
In the women's 1000m event, Hana Marmura finished first with a time of 3:14.61, while Johnson was third at 3:22.55.
The 1500m event saw Paige Chisholm place second in the 18-19 age category, finishing at 5:11.52. In the age 2034 event for the 1500m it was a StFX sweep as Liz MacDonald (4:59.46), Marmura (5:01.28) and Rachel MacDougall (5:09.73) placed 1-2-3 respectively.
Chisholm claimed top spot in the 3000m race (age 18-19) with a time of 11:38.76. MacDonald won her second event of the day with another first place showing in the 3000m (age 20-34). She finished at 10:53.38. Heidi MacDonald was third at 11:13.21.
Graham earned another podium finish with first place in the 60m hurdles (age 18-19), clocking in at 9.83. X-Women teammate Catherine Kennedy (10.17) was second.
In the 60m hurdles (age 20-34), Finnan placed second overall at 9.41.
The X-Women 4x200m relay team claimed the top spot at the meet, finishing the race with a time of 1:48.77, over UNB (1:51.57) and Moncton (1:57.10). Murphy, Candace Cruikshank, Floris and Flower made up the relay contingent for the X-Women.
In the jumping events, Halley Wilson jumped to a third place showing with a 5.02m performance, and she was second overall in triple jump at 11.13m.
StFX's Ellen Murphy was third overall in both the shot put and weight throw events. She had a 10.41m throw in the shot put and finished with a 13.71m in the weight throw.
In the 1500m event it was a StFX sweep with Angus Rawling (4:05.35), Cal DeWolfe (4:08.06) and Paul MacLellan (4:12.01) placing 1-2-3. DeWolfe is the reigning AUS cross country individual champion and he won the 3000m race on Saturday, finishing at 8:49.69. MacLellan was second in the 3000m at 9:00.32.
The X-Men 4x200m relay team of Murphy, Tim Brennan, Garrett VanderSlyk, and Keefe ran to a first place finish with a time of 1:38.44, over two club teams.
In the jumping events, Cameron Glover was the lone X-Men to post a top-three performance, coming second in the high jump with a jump of 1.75m.
