SACKVILLE, NB - In the first and only meeting of the season the STFX X-Men defeated the Mount Allison Mounties 4-1 Saturday afternoon. The X-Men were lifted by three goals in the second half for the win.

STFX threw everything at the Mounties defense in the first half but were unable to find the back of the net until the 24th minute when winger Cameron Shaw (Ottawa, ON) netted the first goal of the game.

An unfortunate injury to Paul-Germain Togbo (Hamburg, DEN) saw the Mounties have to make a change at center-back as they brought on Cole Fisher (Fall River, NS).

The Mounties struck back early in the second half to even the score after a goaltending mistake created the opportunity.

STFX would not let this deter them as they were awarded a penalty in the 67th minute after Samuel Barrowcliffe (Princeton, ON) was pulled down in the box. X-Men captain Lewis Dye (Fall River, NS) stepped up to the spot and gave his team the lead.

STFX added goals from Kyle Cordeiro (Oakville, ON) and former Mountie Ziad Abdelrahman (Toronto, ON) to bring the final score to 4-1.

Keeper Samuel Diltz (Newmarket, ON) picked up the win in the X net and Shaw was named Subway player of the game for the X-Men.

The Mounties (0-3-0) host the Saint Mary's Huskies tomorrow at 3:15 p.m. at Alumni Field, while the X-Men (3-0-0) will travel to UPEI to take on the Panthers, also at 3:15 p.m.
