Halifax, N.S. - The Saint Mary's Huskies played to a 2-2 tie with the U SPORTS No. 9 ranked StFX X-Men on a hot Saturday afternoon at Huskies Stadium.

StFX opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a beautiful goal from William Warren (Windsor, NS) who danced around two Huskies defenders before beating goalkeeper Christian Oxner (Halifax, NS) with a shot that went in the low right corner of the net.

Saint Mary's responded in the 24th minute. Cian Tousignant-Osiadhail (Timberlea, NS) sent a free kick across the box to Tyler Dorey (Dartmouth, NS), who headed the ball in for his first goal of the season.

The Huskies took the lead ten minutes later as Tousignant-Osiadhail sent in a high shot that floated over the outstretched arms of X-Men keeper William Venoit (Bedford, NS).

The Huskies held onto the 2-1 lead at the half.

StFX found the equalizer at the 66th minute with their ninth corner kick of the game. Ayoub Al Arabi (Halifax, NS) sent the ball to Nick Aquino (Dartmouth, NS) who put it in the net.

The game became chippy in the second half as tempers ran high. Both teams received several yellow cards and StFX assistant coach Paul Blandford was kicked out of the game.

Nobody, however, was able to pick up a goal and the game ended in the 2-2 draw.

With 15 saves, Oxner received Subway Player of the Game honours.

The Huskies are now 0-1-2 on the season while the X-Men are at 2-1-1.

It's a short turnaround for the Huskies as they look to pick up their first win when they visit Moncton on Sunday, September 16. The X-Men will be back in action on Friday, September 21 when they travel to Mount Allison.
