X-Men top Aigles Bleus 1-0

Moncton, NB – The StFX X-Men improved to 2-0-1 on the season with a 1-0 shutout victory over the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus Saturday afternoon.

The lone, unassisted goal by freshman forward Tane Caubo in the 36th minute was the only time the ball entered the goal in a hotly contested game. He made no mistake scoring on an open net against Moncton keeper Louis Bergeron.

Both teams played aggressive with numerous scoring opportunities coming from both sides. 

Bergeron had 13 saves on 14 shots on goal, while StFX keeper Matthew Lannan made 8 saves at the other end of to register the shutout victory. 

X-Men midfielder Cole Stuart was named Subway player of the game.  

StFX will be back in action on Sunday afternoon as they travel to Halifax to take on the Dalhousie Tigers in a 3:15 pm match.
