X-Men soccer defenceman Brien Pattenden is the latest athlete featured in our Getting to Know your X-Women and X-Men series throughout the summer. Brien recently completed his second year with the X-Men and is a Human Kinetics student from Corner Brook, Nfld.

What brought you to StFX?
The highly recognized human kinetics program offered at X and the excellent soccer program

What has been your best moment in a StFX uniform so far?
My first time making the starting lineup for X. It was the most exciting/nervous part of my career.

One thing I cannot live without is…?
Friends and family

If I could have super-hero powers I would…?
Be super fast like flash, it would be useful in soccer because I'm definitely not one of the quicker guys on the team

My biggest pet peeve is…?
When people steal my personal pizzas from meal hall

Tell us one thing that fans may not know about you?
I am the first Newfoundlander to play for X-Men soccer since the late 90's. I would have been close to five years old at the time.
