    Atlantic University Sport is pleased to announce the 2018-19 regular season sport schedules for hockey, basketball and volleyball, as well as the hosts for the 2019 AUS winter championships.

    StFX X-Men hockey defenseman Jagger has signed a one year contract with the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League (AHL), as announced by the club this week.

    Chase Marchand of the U SPORTS silver medalist StFX X-Men is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending March 18, 2018.
  • Jagger Dirk signs amateur contract with AHL’s Binghamton Devils

    StFX X-Men hockey defenseman Jagger has signed an amateur tryout with the Binghamton Devils of the American Hockey League (AHL), as announced by the club earlier today.  
  • Marchand and Dirk receive national hockey honours

    Chase Marchand was named the U SPORTS goaltender of the year Wednesday night, along with being named as a U SPORTS 1st team All-Canadian. Teammate Jagger Dirk was also singled out as a U SPORTS 1st team All-Canadian on defense.

  • Chase Marchand named AUS men's hockey MVP

    The StFX X-Men received multiple AUS accolades for thier performances on the ice during the 2017-18 season. Goaltender Chase Marchand was named the conference most valuable player and was an AUS first team all-star, while head coach Brad Peddle received the AUS Coach of the Year award. Defenseman Jagger Dirk and forward Michael Clarke were honored as AUS first team all-stars, defenseman Cole MacDonald was an AUS second team all-star and Santino Centorame was named to the AUS all-rookie team on defense.

  • UNB clinch first place with win over X-Men

    Tyler Boland (St.John’s, NL), Oliver Leblanc (Quebec City, QC) and Kris Bennett (Brampton, ON) each had two points as the UNB Varsity Reds defeated the StFX X-Men 5-2 Friday night, clinching first place in the Atlantic University Sport standings.

    The U SPORTS No. 1 ranked StFX X-Men (22-2-4) bested the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (3-22-2) by a 5-2 score Saturday night at the Charles V. Keating Centre. The crowd of over 500 were treated to a very fast paced and physical 60 minutes of play.
  • Tigers upset U SPORTS No. 1 X-Men 7-3

    The visiting Dalhousie Tigers (9-18-1) extended their winning streak to five games with a 7-3 upset over the U SPORTS No. 1 ranked StFX X-Men (21-2-4) Friday evening at the Charles V. Keating Centre. Seven different Tigers found the back of the X-Men net.

    The StFX X-Men (21-1-4) scored quickly in overtime to edge the Saint Mary’s Huskies (16-8-2) by a 3-2 score in a tight Friday night game at the Halifax Forum.

    In a battle of U SPORTS top ten ranked teams, the No. 2 StFX X-Men defeated the No. 7 Acadia Axemen by a 4-1 score Wednesday evening at the Charles V. Keating Centre on Bell Let’s Talk night.
  • X-Men skate to 5-1 victory over Aigles Bleus

    The U SPORTS No. 2 ranked StFX X-Men skated to a 5-1 victory over the Univesité de Moncton Aigles Bleus Saturday evening at the Charles V. Keating Centre. A three-goal second period helped pace the X-Men to the win.
  • X-Men shut out Tigers 3-0

    The U SPORTS No. 2 ranked StFX X-Men shut out the visiting Dalhousie Tigers 3-0 on a stormy Wednesday evening at the Charles V. Keating Centre. Despite play being postponed 15 minutes due to the inclement weather affecting the arrival of the games officials, both teams came ready to play a very active 60 minutes of hockey.

    The battle of top ranked U SPORTS men’s hockey teams did not disappoint as the No. 3 UNB Varsity Reds defeated the No. 1 StFX X-Men 2-1 in a shootout at the Charles V. Keating Centre in front of over 1200 fans Saturday night.  
  • X-Men top visiting Panthers 5-2

    The U SPORTS No. 1 ranked StFX X-Men topped the visiting University of Prince Edward Island Panthers 5-2 in AUS play Friday night at the Keating Centre. The X-Men avenged a shootout loss to the Panthers last weekend in Charlottetown.

    The StFX X-Men handed the UNB Varsity Reds their first regulation loss of the season, beating the host V-Reds 5-2 on Saturday evening. With the win, the X-Men take over top spot in the Atlantic University Sport standings.

    Alberta Golden Bears forward Luke Philp scored early in the first period, and the U SPORTS All-Stars shut out Team Canada’s World Junior prospects 3-0 at the Meridian Centre Wednesday, in a tight opening game of the 2017 U SPORTS All-Star series.
  • Eric Locke honored as U SPORTS Top 8 Academic All-Canadian by Governor General

    The U SPORTS Top 8 Academic All-Canadians for the 2016-17 season, including former X-Men hockey captain Eric Locke, were honoured in Quebec City on Friday morning. Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, the newly-apppointed Governor General of Canada, presented the fifth annual Governor General’s Academic All-Canadian Commendation to the eight recipients, during a ceremony at the Citadelle of Québec, her official residence in Quebec City.
