Hoop X-Men defeat Mystics in pre-season action

Halifax, NS – After some changes to their pre-season schedule due to the recent hurricane, the X-Men travelled to Halifax Saturday afternoon and played to a 106-73 exhibition win over the MSVU Mystics.

The blue and white got out to a 29-14 lead after the first quarter, and despite being outscored 25-23 in the second frame, they lead 52-39 at halftime.

STXF outscored the Mystics 27-19 in the third quarter and 27-15 in the fourth quarter on route to the win.

Dondre Reddick scored 22 points for X and David Muenkat had 20.

Bennett Grumbach netted 12, Kye Kotapski-Tinga had 11, Deon Ejim scored 10, while Antoine Vernon and Avan Nava each had nine points for the X-Men.

Rounding out the scoring in the game was Keyonte Beals (6), Matt Pennell (4) and Michael Utsalo (3).

The X-Men will be hitting the round for an exhibition trip to Ontario October 6-9. They will tip-off agiant OUA opponents Laurier, McMaster and Guelph.
