Antigonish, NS - StFX basketball head coach Steve Konchalski is pleased to announce the commitment of power forward Sidney Okeke to the X-Men lineup for the 2019-20 season.
A 6'8" forward, Sid hails from Brampton, Ont. and played his high school basketball at The Rise Prep in Brantford, Ont., prior to attending Trinidad State Junior College in Colorado this past season. While at The Rise, he was honoured with The Rise Prep Community Service Award for 2018.
Coach K is excited about the addition of Sidney to the roster, commenting, "Sid will give us both an inside and outside presence to our frontcourt. He is a physical player in the paint who can step out and shoot the three. He is another addition to what is rounding out to be a very strong recruiting class."
Sidney will enroll in the Bachelor of Business Administration program at StFX in September. He joins previously announced X-Men basketball commitments Jaxon Smith (guard, Halifax, NS), Dondre Reddick (guard, Antigonish, NS), Avan Nava (guard, Mississauga, ON) and JJ Sedore (guard, Brampton, ON).
