X-Women soccer defense Gabby Bergh was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 9, 2013. Gabby, a third year human nutrition student from Calgary, Alta. played 180 minutes of solid defense in two consecutive games this weekend, helping the X-Women pick up four points with a win and a tie in the opening week of AUS play. Gabby helped her X teammates to a 2-1 victory over Moncton on Saturday, followed by a 1-1 tie with UNB on Sunday with her consistent play and leadership in the X-Women backfield.

X-Men football defensive end/kicker Hayden Peters was named the StFX Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 8, 2013. Hayden, a second year human kinetics student from Inverary, Ont. was the Subway Player of the Game in the X-Men’s 31-10 victory over Mount A on Friday night. Named StFX Defensive Player of the Week, he led the X-Men defense with 9.5 tackles (7 solo and 5 assisted) including one tackle for a loss of yards. In his dual role as the X-Men kicker, Hayden also booted 4 kickoffs for 212 yards and 8 punts for 305 yards.
