Tremblay named AUS football offensive athlete of the week

STFX receiver Caleb Tremblay is the Atlantic University Sport Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 22, 2024.

The product of Fredericton, NB, had a big game for the X-Men on Saturday, catching nine passes for 188 yards in his team's 19-17 come-from-behind victory over the Saint Mary's Huskies. One of those catches was a 13-yard touchdown – the first of his AUS career.

Tremblay's X-Men will have this weekend off but will resume their AUS regular season schedule on Oct. 5 when they will host the Bishop's University Gaiters. Game time is set for 3 p.m. ADT.

Bishop's Gaiters linebacker Christopher Kramer is the Atlantic University Sport Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 22, 2024.

Kramer, from Victoriaville, Que., helped as the Gaiters posted a shutout this past weekend, beating the Mount Allison University Mounties 62-0. Kramer collected six tackles, including a sack for a loss of nine yards, and an interception that he returned for 12 yards.

The 4-0 Gaiters will host Saint Mary's this Saturday. Game time is set for 3 p.m. ADT.

University: Bishop's University
Position: Receiver/Returner
Hometown: Laval, Que.
Year of eligibility: Third
Academic program: Business
Height and weight: 5'10, 184 lbs.

Bishop's University kick returner Cédric Maurice is the Atlantic University Sport Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 22, 2024.

In a game of many highlights for the Gaiters, the third-year Business student topped them all as he set a new AUS record when he returned a missed field goal 129 yards for a touchdown in his team's 62-0 victory over the Mount Allison University Mounties this past weekend.

The return also set a new Bishop's Gaiters record and tied the U SPORTS mark.

Maurice's Gaiters sit a perfect 4-0 atop the AUS standings. They will put their unblemished record on the line this weekend when they host the Saint Mary's Huskies on Saturday in a 3 p.m. ADT start.
