Fifth year veteran linebacker Dyton Blackett signed a free agent contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL) on Monday. The 6'4", 227-pound X-Men co-captain from Canning, N.S. was an AUS defensive all-star this past season.

X-Men head coach Gary Waterman commented, "Dyton Blackett is a smart and talented football player. His work ethic and selfless play has set a positive example for many of our younger players. We wish him continued success in his CFL opportunity with the Hamilton Ti-Cats."

Blackett recently wrapped up his fourth year eligibility with the two-time AUS champion X-Men. He was eighth overall in conference tackling with 32.5 on the season, including 27 solo tackles. Averaging 4.1 tackles/game, he also had 2.5 sacks, two interceptions and one break-up last year.
