Wasdal, Whyte & Pike named X-Men football athletes of the week

McDonald's X-Men Football Offensive Athlete of the Week
X-Men quarterback Bailey Wasdal was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 27, 2018. Bailey, a 1st year Business student from Calgary, AB threw three touchdown passes Saturday in StFX's 38-15 win over Mount A. Bailey was 18 for 25 for 246 yards in the game and he also rushed 5 times for 32 yards. The freshman QB finished the AUS season 121-196 for 1494 total yards, averaging 186.8 yards/game. 

McDonald's X-Men Football Defensive Athlete of the Week
X-Men linebacker Gordon Whyte was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 27, 2018. Gordon, a 4th year Business student from Toronto, Ont. lead all tacklers in StFX's 38-15 win over Mount A on Saturday. He had 7 tackles in the game including 4 solo tackles and two of those were tackles for a loss of yards. Gordon finished the season 3rd overall in AUS defense with 51 tackles (34 solo, 34 assisted), averaging 6.4 tackles/game. 

McDonald's X-Men Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week
X-Men defensive back Jeremy Pike was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 27, 2018.  Jeremy, a 5th year Arts student (3rd year eligibility) from Cornwall, Ont. played a strong game for the X-Men defense on special teams in their 33-15 win over Mount A on Saturday. He had three tackles on special teams in great downfield coverage, with four total tackles on the day. Jeremy finished the AUS season with 27.5 tackles (22 solo, 11 assisted), averaging 3.4 tackles/game.
