Socholotiuk, Cordeiro & Burnham receive McDonald's football athlete of the week honors

McDonald's X-Men Football Offensive Athlete of the Week
X-Men running back Jordan Socholotiuk was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 29, 2017. Jordan, a 4th year Human Kinetics student from Fort McMurray, AB led the StFX ground attack in Saturday's 27-14 win over Bishop's, accumulating 121 yards on 25 rushes as he averaged 4.8 yards per rush. Jordan finished the season second overall in AUS rushing with 944 total yards and an average of 118.0 yards/game.

McDonald's X-Men Football Defensive Athlete of the Week
X-Men defensive lineman Tyler Cordeiro was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 29, 2017. Tyler, a 4th year Human Kinetics student from Oakville, ON led the StFX defense on Saturday in their 27-14 win over Bishop's. He had 7 tackles (6 solo and 1 assisted), along with a sack for a loss of 6 yards on the play. Tyler finished the AUS season with 34.5 tackles, 26 of which were solo tackles, along with 2 sacks. 

McDonald's X-Men Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week
X-Men kicker/punter Kieran Burnham was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 29, 2017. Kieran, a 4th year Arts student (2nd year eligibility) from Cambridge, ON was impressive in punting in the X-Men's 27-14 win over Bishop's on Saturday. With 9 punts in the game and 338 total yards, Kieran averaged 37.6 yards/kick and had 3 punts inside the 20 yard line, 2 of which resulted in early game safeties. His punting average this season was 37.1.
