Julien-Grant, Williams & Holland receive McDonald's football athlete of the week honors

X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week
X-Men receiver Kaion Julien-Grant was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 8, 2017. Kaion, a 3rd year Human Kinetics student from Toronto, ON had four receptions for 106 yards in the X-Men's recent loss to MtA. He also had 2 rushes for 10 yards, 1 kick-off return (22 yards) and 2 punt returns (9 yards). Kaion scored his U SPORTS-leading 7th touchdown of the season in the fourth quarter on a 67 yard catch. With 1105 total all-purpose yards on the year he is currently 3rd overall nationally. 

X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week
X-Men defensive back Jonah Williams was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 8, 2017. Jonah, a second year Business student from Halifax, NS played a strong game on defense for the X-Men, despite a 32-15 loss to MtA on Saturday. Jonah had 7 tackles in the game, including 6 solo tackles and also had 2 key break-ups. His second break-ups on the season are 2nd in the conference, he currently averages 3.9 tackles per game with 23.5 on the year. 

X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week
X-Men defensive back Justin Holland was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 8, 2017. Justin, a fifth year Human Kinetics student from Parksville, B.C. was a force on kick-off and punt return coverage for the X-Men in their recent loss at MtA. With three tackles on special teams, he was a huge factor in holding the Mounties punt return average to 2.6 yards. Justin currently has 13 defensive tackles on the season, as well as 6 break-ups.
