Socholotiuk, Cordeiro and Julien-Grant receive football athlete of the week honors

X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week
X-Men running back Jordan Socholotiuk was named the McDonald's Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 1, 2017. Jordan, a 4th year Human Kinetics student from Fort McMurray, AB led all rushers in the game in the X-Men's recent loss to SMU, tallying 210 yards on 32 carries. He averaged 6.6 yards/rush and also scored a 1 yard touchdown in the first quarter. Jordan currently leads the AUS in rushing and is third overall in U SPORTS averaging 132.8 yards/game and 664 total yards on the season. 

X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week
X-Men defensive lineman Tyler Cordeiro was named the McDonald's Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 1, 2017. Tyler, a fourth year Human Kinetics student from Oakville, Ont. continued his strong play on defense in the X-Men's recent loss to SMU. Tyler had 6 tackles in the game including 4 solo and 4 assisted tackles. He also had one sack for a loss of 2 yards. He currently has 18.5 tackles on the AUS season, averaging 3.7 tackles per game. 

X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week
X-Men returner Kaion Julien-Grant was named the McDonald's Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 1, 2017. Kaion, a third year Human Kinetics student from Toronto, Ont. averaged 22.6 yards on punt returns in the X-Men's recent loss to SMU. He had 5 punt returns for 113 total yards and 1 kick-off return for 14 yards. Kaion had 160 all-purpose yards in the game and scored a touchdown on a 16 yard reception in the third quarter. He is currently 2nd in the AUS and 3rd overall in U SPORTS in all-purpose yards, averaging 191.6 yards/game.
