Grant, Bell & Peters named X-Men football athletes of the week

X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week
X-Men receiver Kaion Grant was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 25, 2016. Kaion, a 2nd year Human Kinetics student from Toronto, ON scored a 99 yard touchdown off a passing play from QB Tivon Cook in the X-Men's recent 17-11 loss to Montreal. Kaion also had 6 receptions for 171 yards, along with 1 kickoff return for 19 yards and 9 punt returns for 113 yards. He currently leads the AUS in all-purpose yards, averaging 205/game and is second in receiving yards, averaging 108.7/game. 

X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week
X-Men defensive back Dylan Bell was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 25, 2016. Dylan, a third year Human Kinetics student from Brockville, ON had six solo tackles in the X-Men's 17-11 loss to Concordia on Saturday. He also had two key interceptions for the X-Men defense in the close interlock game. Dylan is averaging 3.2 tackles/game after 3 games played and has 9.5 total tackles on the season. 

X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week
X-Men defensive back Hayden Peters was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 25, 2016. Hayden, a 1st year Education student (5th year eligibility) student from Inverary, ON was honored for his special teams coverage in the X-Men's recent 17-11 loss to Concordia. Hayden led the StFX defense with 8 tackles in the game, including 7 solo and 2 assisted tackles. He is currently 10th overall in the AUS, averaging 4.8 tackles/game with 14.5 total tackles on the season.
