Eight members of the AUS champion StFX X-Men football team recently participated in the CFL regional combine in Montreal on March 9th. Receiver Donald Tabor was one of four athletes selected from the regional combine to attend the CFL national combine in Toronto on March 11th. His teammate, linebacker Daniel Tshiamala also attended the national combine.

Every year, executives, coaches and scouts from all eight CFL teams gather in Toronto to interview and evaluate the top Canadian Draft-eligible prospects. The athletes are interviewed by interested CFL teams, then are subjected to a variety of exercises and drills to test their physical abilities and football skills through measured drills.

"We work extremely hard to create an environment and culture where our players can be successful on and off the field," comments X-Men head coach Gary Waterman. "The nine X-Men that earned the opportunity to showcase their skills for the CFL scouts and coaching staffs all had great days. Their testing numbers and competitive drill performance showed that they belong right up there with the best players in the country. We are very proud of all of them and looked forward to watching the CFL draft."

The CFL draft is scheduled for May 10, 2016.
