Cook, Tshiamala & Kolybaba named X-Men football athletes of the Week

X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week
X-Men quarterback Tivon Cook was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 13, 2015. Tivon, a third year Arts student (4th year eligibility) from Scarborough, Ont., was 28 for 35 in completions on Saturday in the X-Men's loss to Acadia, throwing for a total of 250 yards. Tivon also threw two touchdown passes, a 14 yard play in the 1st quarter and a 13 yard TD pass in the 2nd quarter.

X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week
X-Men linebacker Daniel Tshiamala was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 13, 2015. Daniel, a third year Arts student from Peachland, B.C., led all defenders in tackles in StFX's recent 31-15 loss to Acadia on Saturday. Daniel had 10.5 total tackles, 8 solo and 5 assisted, included two tackles for a loss of yards. He also had an interception which he returned for nine yards.

X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week
X-Men linebacker Brandt Kolybaba was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 13, 2015. Brandt, a first year Arts student from Lacombe, Alta. continued his outstanding training camp play in StFX's recent 31-15 loss to Acadia. He is a dominant cover player on punts and kickoffs and is a force the opponents need to plan for. Brandy had 5 solo tackles on special teams and defense on Saturday, along with one sack for a loss of 7 yards.
