Tabor, Omara & Ford receive football athlete of the week honors for final week of season

X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week

X-Men wide receiver Donald Tabor was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 9, 2014. Donald, a fourth year Business student from Dartmouth, NS, led all X-Men receivers in their recent 29-7 loss to Mount A in the AUS championship game on Saturday in Sackville, NB. He had 9 receptions for 93 yards, averaging 10.3 yards/catch. Donald finished the AUS season sixth overall in receiving with 45.8 yards/per game on 29 total receptions for 366 yards.

X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week

X-Men linebacker Ron Omara was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 9, 2014. Ron, a fourth year Arts student from Alymer, QC led all StFX defenders in tackles in their recent 29-7 loss to Mount Allison in the AUS championship game on Saturday. Ron had 7.5 tackles including 6 solo and 3 assisted tackles. He finished the season 7th overall in AUS tackling with 36.5 total tackles. 

X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week

X-Men kicker/punter Jeremy Ford was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 9, 2014. Jeremy, a fourth year Science student from Halifax, NS had 9 punts for 240 yards in the X-Men's recent loss to Mount A in the AUS championship game, averaging 26.7 yards per punt. He also booted three kick-offs for 113 yards, averaging 37.7 yards per kick. Jeremy's punting average for the AUS season this year was 28.8 yards per punt.
