Quarterback Tivon Cook of the St. Francis Xavier X-Men is the Atlantic University Sport football offensive player of the week for the week ending Oct. 26, 2014.

A third-year arts student from Scarborough, Ont., broke StFX single-game records and earned his place in the AUS conference records Saturday in the X-Men's 18-10 loss to the Mount Allison Mounties.

Cook broke StFX records for passing attempts (56) and passing yards (463) in a game, and tied the X-Men record for passing completions (30).

This places him second in the AUS single game record books for passing attempts, third for passing yards and in a tie for seventh for passing completions.

Cook had one touchdown pass for 67 yards in the game and also rushed six times for 34 yards. He finishes the AUS regular season first overall in passing, averaging 227.6 yards per game.

Defensive back Russell Rainey of the Acadia Axemen is the Atlantic University Sport football defensive player of the week.

A third-year kinesiology student in his second year of eligibility, Rainey posted 9.5 tackles (eight solo and three assisted) in Acadia's 26-17 win over the Saint Mary's Huskies Saturday.

Of these, three were tackles for a loss of 16 total yards. This included a sack for a loss of 11 yards and an interception returned for three yards.

Academic program: BA sociology
Height and weight: 5'11", 180lbs

Punt/kick returner Josh Blanchard of the Mount Allison Mounties is the Atlantic University Sport football special teams player of the week.

A fifth-year sociology student from Waaisis, N.B., Blanchard posted a kickoff return for 14 yards and six punt returns for 41 total yards in Saturday's 18-10 win over the StFX X-Men.

On offense, he also had three receptions for 26 total yards.
