Catterall, Cook, Ferguson & Ford named X-Men football athletes of the week

X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week (co-awarded)
X-Men wide receiver Jordan Catterall was the co-winner of the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 26, 2014. Jordan, a fourth year Business student (5th year eligibility) from Oakville, ON, broke the StFX single game record for receiving yards (231) on Saturday in the X-Men's loss to Mount A. In leading all receivers in the game, he averaged 18.8 yards/reception on 11 catches, finishing the AUS regular season third overall in receiving (75.6 yards/game).  

X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week (co-awarded)
X-Men quarterback Tivon Cook was the co-winner of the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 26, 2014. Tivon, a third year Arts student from Scarborough, ON, broke StFX single game records on Saturday in the X-Men's loss to Mount A. He broke X-Men records for passing attempts (56) and passing yards (463) in a game, and tied the X-Men record for passing completions (30). Tivon had one touchdown pass for 67 yards in the game and also rushed five times for 31 yards. He finished the AUS season first overall in passing averaging 228.8 yards/game.

X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week 
X-Men defensive back Demetrius Ferguson was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 26, 2014. Demetrius, a fourth year Business student (5th year eligibility) from Nassau Bahamas led all StFX defenders in tackles in their recent loss to MtA with 7 solo tackles and 4 assisted tackles in the game. He also had one interception and a breakup for the X-Men. Demetrius finished the AUS season third in tackling with 46.

X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week
X-Men kicker/punter Jeremy Forde was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 26, 2014. Jeremy, a fourth year Science student from Halifax, NS booted one field goal for 27 yards in the X-Men's recent loss to MtA. He also had 13 punts in the game for 359 yards, averaging 27.6 yards/kick including one punt within the 20 yard line. Jeremy had 1 kickoff for 63 yards on Saturday and closes out the season with a 28.8 punting average.
