Bailey, Adereti & Stevens earn X-Men football player of the week honors

X-Men wide receiver Devon Bailey was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 22, 2013. Devon, a fourth year Arts student from Mississauga, Ont., scored the X-Men's only major of the game in their recent 40-11 loss to Acadia. He pulled in a 74 yard TD reception in the first quarter for StFX, his league-leading third touchdown of the season. Devon led all receivers in the game with 4 catches for 100 total yards and also had two kickoff returns.  

X-Men football linebacker Sanmi Adereti was named the StFX Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 22, 2013. Sanmi, a third year Arts student (5th year eligibility) from Brampton, Ont. made some key tackles and big plays for the StFX defense in their recent 40-11 loss to Acadia. Sanmi had three solo tackles along with a sack for a loss of eight yards. He also had two break-ups in the game. He is currently 7th overall in the AUS with 18.5 total tackles.

X-Men fullback Jerome Stevens was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 22, 2013. Jerome, a third year Arts student from Ottawa, Ont., played great downfield coverage for the X-Men on special teams, despite their recent 40-11 loss to Acadia. He had outstanding snapping and punishing hits, recording 4.5 tackles in the game (three solo and three assisted tackles).
