More than two dozen AUS graduates will start the season on CFL rosters.

The CFL opens the regular season on Thursday night with the Montreal Alouettes at Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

The Blue Bombers have the heaviest concentration of ex-AUS players with six.

Henoc and Cauchy Muamba played at St. Francis Xavier. Henoc Muamba is a linebacker and his brother a safety.

Truro's Justin Palardy, a kicker, and Halifax's Steve Morley, an offensive lineman, are also on the active roster. Both played at Saint Mary's.

Carl Fitzgerald, drafted out of Saint Mary's this spring, is on the practice roster as a fullback. Former Acadia defensive lineman Jake Thomas is on the short-term injury list.

The Edmonton Eskimos have former Acadia receiver Matt Carter and ex-Axemen defensive back Mike Miller on the roster along with rookie linebacker Kyle Norris from Saint Mary's and linebacker Corbin Sharun, once a quarterback at St. F.X. Former Axemen long-snapper Mike Benson is on the practice roster.

Three former Huskies — defensive back Jeff Hecht, fullback/long snapper Tim St. Pierre and linebacker Karl McCartney — will open the year with the Calgary Stampeders. Former X-Men offensive lineman Steve Myddelton is injured.

Akeem Foster, formerly of St. F.X., is a receiver with the B.C. Lions. Former Saint Mary's offensive lineman Adam Baboulas is on the nine-game injury list and Dartmouth's Matt Albright, also an offensive lineman, is on the practice roster.

Defensive back Marc Beswick, who played at Saint Mary's, is one of five AUS products with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Neil King of Saint Mary's, a defensive back, is on the short-term injury list while kicker Brett Lauther of Truro and receiver Dave Stala, also ex-Huskies, are on the nine-game list. Mount Allison offensive lineman Mike Filer is on the practice roster.

Linebacker Akwasi Antwi, another former Mount A player, is on the practice roster with the Toronto Argonauts. Mike McCullough, who played at St. F.X. more than a decade ago, is on the nine-game injury list with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Saint Mary's receiver Damone Blackman (Montreal) and Acadia fullback Brett Haenni (Edmonton) were late cuts.
