The 27th annual Father Kehoe Golf Classic took place Friday, July 24th at the Antigonish Golf & Country Club. A field of 24 teams of 96 golfers participated in the four-person scramble, which honors the legacy of StFX alumnus and former athlete, coach and Athletic Director Father George Kehoe, in addition to raising funds for scholarships for StFX student-athletes.
Homeward Inns won top low gross honors (56) as the tournament champions, taking home the MacDonald Chisholm Insurance Trophy. The team consisted of David Cusack, Josh Bouchie, Jay White and Cameron VanOirschot. In addition to winning golfing merchandise the winners took home special StFX Athletics Ollie Bots.
The tournament runner up (58) was the River Rats, whose team members included Jason MacLean, Paul Barrett and Jeff Stanley.
The recipients of the Irene McFarland Memorial trophy for the top low net score (45) in the tournament was Dunphy Denistry, consisting of Rob Dunphy, Nancy Dunphy, Adam Dunphy, and Bobby Dunphy.
IMP Solutions1 took home second low net honors (50) with team members consisting of Dave Joyce, Chris MacPhee, Bobby Martell and Chris MacPherson.
With the differing protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to hold a post-event gathering to announce all the team winners and auction prize winners. StFX Athletics would like to congratulate the following prize winners and a representative will be in touch to follow-up regarding the collection/delivery of prizes.
