X-Women soccer/track & field athlete Kevyn Timmons is the latest athlete featured in our Getting to Know your X-Women and X-Men series throughout the summer. Kevyn is a fourth year Human Kinetics student from Calgary, Alta.

My nickname is…?
My 3-year-old cousin calls me Kiya but most people refer to me as Kev or Kevy

My favorite moment to date as a StFX student-athlete is…?
Personally, my first AUS soccer game in Moncton was very memorable, I remember walking into the stadium and as a rookie I think my eyes bulged out of my head. Also every time I finish a race marks a great moment. Overall, I love watching all of our teams succeed whether it's winning an AUS championship or Bridget Brennan winning the 800m race in the heptathlon at CIS (goals).

If I could be StFX President for one day I would…?
Look to hire someone much more competent than myself.

A unique talent or skill I have is…?
I can break an apple in half with my head and have the ability to make any situation awkward but what's more impressive is that my fellow teammate and friend Nadine only sweats and grows hair out of one armpit.

My biggest pet peeve is…? ‎
When Nadine complains about the way I chew. Also not fond of when people put their chewed gum under a table or chair.

My favorite childhood memory is…?
I had a pleasant childhood full of many great memories but I distinctly remember always running across the field (approximately half a mile) to my grandparent's house while they watched me coming through binoculars and waited at the end with a glass of water to quench my thirst.

My dream job is…? ‎
To cut the lines/mow the grass at Fenway Park

Something interesting about my hometown is…?
Well interestingly enough it's called Balzac. It is also the home of Balzac Billy, who is considered one of Canada's most prominent forecasting groundhogs (much like Shubinacade Sam and Wiarton Willie).
