X-Women hockey forward Tyra Meropoulis was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 19, 2020. Tyra, a second year Business student from Edson, AB tallied six points in two recent wins and was named player of the game in both games. In Tuesday’s 4-3 victory over U SPORTS No. 2 ranked SMU, Tyra scored the game winning goal in a shootout and added another goal and assist in the game. She followed up with two goals and one assist in a 6-2 win over Moncton on Saturday. With 29 points to date, Tyra is currently leading the nation in both points and goals (21).
