X-Women hockey forward Lydia Schurman was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 10, 2019. Lydia, a fourth year Science student from Summerside, PE led the X-Women to two key wins on the weekend. Friday’s 4-1 win over first place STU clinched the X-Women second place and a playoff bye. Lydia scored one goal in the game and was named the second star. In Sunday’s 2-1 win over UPEI, she assisted on the game winning goal and received Player of the Game honours. Providing key leadership on and off the ice, Lydia tallied 13 points (7 goals, 6 assists) this season and was a +12.
