X-Women rugby No. 8 Olivia DeMerchant was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 4, 2018. Olivia, a 5th year Science student from Bedell, NB received the U SPORTS tournament MVP award, playing a key part in the X-Women’s national championship title victory. Scoring three tries over the weekend, she was also named a U SPORTS tournament all-star. Olivia was the player of the game in StFX’s semifinal win over Laval, and played another strong game in the gold medal match that saw StFX dominate 41-24 over Guelph.
