X-Women basketball guard Chelsea Provo was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 2, 2017. Chelsea, a second year Arts student from East Preston, NS was named to the tournament all-star team at the MSVU Dyrick McDermott Invitational this past weekend. In StFX’s first game against MtA, Chelsea was the player of the game and top scorer with 17 points, adding to a double-double night with 10 rebounds as the X-Women won 55-46. In their 67-52 win over St. Thomas she scored 2 points and contributed with 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Finally, in the X-Women’s close 51-47 loss in the final, Chelsea scored a team-high 11 points and added 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals.
