X-Men hockey goaltender Chase Marchand was named the StFX Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Mar. 12, 2017. Chase, a first year Arts student from Halifax, NS was named AUS playoff MVP as he posted a 7-0 post-season record, leading the X-Men to a second consecutive AUS championship title. Chase had 49 saves and was player in the game in StFX’s 2-1 over UNB in Fredericton on Monday night. He then had 31 saves on Wednesday night as StFX defeated UNB 5-4, winning the AUS championship series 2-0. Chase led all goalies with a .925 save percentage in the playoffs, helping the X-Men to advance to the U SPORTS championship.
