X-Women hockey forward Jenna MacDonald was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Mar. 6, 2017. Jenna, a third year Business student from Osgoode, Ont. scored three goals in three AUS playoff games this week. In Tuesday’s semifinal series-clinching 5-3 win over St. Thomas, Jenna scored two goals in the game, both in the 1st period to give X a 3-1 lead at the time. She also scored a short-handed goal late in the game Friday night in StFX’s 3-2 loss to SMU in Game 1 of the AUS final series. She continued her strong play Sunday in StFX’s crucial 2-1 win over SMU in Game 2, forcing a deciding Game 3. Jenna leads the conference in playoff goals with seven in seven games played, and she is third overall in AUS playoff scoring (seven points).
