X-Men track & field runner Alex Cyr was named the StFX Male Athlete of the Week (co-winner) for the week ending Feb. 26, 2017. Alex, a fourth year Human Kinetics student (3rd year eligibility) from Abram-Village, PEI was AUS champion in the 1500m race at the AUS championship in Moncton this past weekend. His time of 3:56.08 was best amongst a field of 20 runners. Alex also won a silver medal with the 4x800m X-Men relay team and was the individual bronze medalist in the 3000m, finishing with a time of 8:34.29. He advances to the U SPORTS national championship in Edmonton to compete in the 1500m event.
X-Men track & field sprinter Adrian Kinney was named the StFX Male Athlete of the Week (co-winner) for the week ending Feb. 26, 2017. Adrian, a second year Human Kinetics student from Bristol, NB was AUS champion in the 60m dash at the AUS championship in Moncton this past weekend. His time of 6.94 was best amongst a field of 33 and also broke the StFX record of 6.96 set last year. Adrian also won a bronze medal with the 4x200m X-Men relay team and was the individual bronze medalist in the 300m, finishing with a time of 36.30. He advances to the U SPORTS national championship in Edmonton to compete in the 60m event.
