X-Women curling skip Emma Logan was named co-winner of the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 12, 2017. Emma, a second year Business student from Halifax, NS led the X-Women to their first-ever AUS curling championship banner in Truro, NS this weekend. After a close 5-4 semifinal win over UNB, Emma lead the X-Women to victory with a 9-3 win over Dalhousie in the final. Playing near perfect over the weekend, Emma showed determination and strong strategic play in leading her team to the historic AUS championship banner. The X-Women were 5-1 in round robin play in first place with wins over UNB (7-2), SMU (3-1), MUN (6-5), MtA (10-7) and DAL (7-4) and have advanced to the U SPORTS national championship.

X-Women hockey forward Sarah Bujold was named co-winner of the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 12, 2017. Sarah, a third year Human Kinetics student from Riverview, NB tallied six points in two weekend games. In the X-Women’s 5-4 win over U SPORTS No. 3 Saint Mary’s on Friday, Sarah scored a goal and had an assist, and on Sunday’s 7-3 win over Mount A she had a hat trick with 3 goals and 3 assists, receiving player of the game honors. Sarah claimed the 2017 AUS scoring crown with 43 points on the season (24 goals, 19 assists). She leads the conference in total goals (24) and is second in +/- rating (+30) and is currently leading the entire country in scoring.
