X-Women rugby lock Emma Taylor was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 5, 2014. Emma, a fifth year Business student from Scotsburn, N.S. scored two tries and provided veteran leadership on the pitch Friday night as the CIS No. 2 ranked X-Women defeated the No. 8 ranked Acadia Axewomen 43-12 in a battle of the top two AUS teams. Emma scored the opening try of the game to set the pace and scored again on one of the final plays of the game, earning Player of the Game honors for her on-field efforts. Her 9 tries on the season leads the AUS conference and she is second overall in AUS scoring with 55 points for the first place X-Women.
