X-Men hockey forward Rob Slaney was named the StFX Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Mar. 14, 2015. Rob, a fourth year Human Kinetics student (5th year eligibility) from Portugal Cove, Nfld received player of the game honors for his efforts in the X-Men’s tough 5-1 loss against Alberta in the CIS quarterfinal game played Friday night in Halifax. Rob, the captain of the X-Men, has been a leader on and off the ice for the X-Men squad. He finished the AUS season second in team scoring with 20 points (10 assists & 10 goals). Rob was also honored recently as the AUS Godfrey award recipient for community service, and was a nominee for the prestigious CIS Randy Gregg award.
