X-Women hockey forward Alex Normore was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 18, 2015. Alex, a fifth year Human Kinetics student from Bedford, NS tallied 6 points in two weekend wins for the CIS No. 7 and AUS first place X-Women. In Friday’s 5-1 win over SMU Alex scored a goal and had an assist, then followed up with a one goal, three assist performance Sunday in StFX’s 4-2 win over St. Thomas, earning player of the game honors. With the weekend points Alex also broke the X-Women career scoring record, surpassing the 196 mark set by Brayden Ferguson (2004-09). Second overall in the AUS record book and fourth overall nationally, Alex currently has a career 200 points (78 goals, 122 assists) in 111 games played. She currently leads the AUS in scoring and is second in the CIS with 27 points on the season.
