X-Men track & field sprinter Mackenzie Munroe was named the StFX Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Mar. 1, 2015. Mackenzie, a fifth year Arts student (3rd year eligibility) from Yarmouth, NS was named the AUS male track athlete of the year after his three-medal performance at the AUS championship this past weekend in Moncton. MacKenzie won gold in the 600m, breaking a 23 year old AUS record with a time of 1:21.68. He followed up with a silver medal in the 300m, clocking in at 36.04, along with another silver as a member of the X-Men 4x200m relay team. He was on pace for a gold medal with the 4x400m relay team but an unfortunate baton drop disqualified the team. Mackenzie has advanced to compete the upcoming CIS national championship in Windsor.
