X-Women hockey forward Alex Normore was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 9, 2014. Alex, a fourth year Human Kinetics student from Bedford, NS helped lead the CIS No. 8 X-Women to three wins this past week. In Wednesday’s 3-0 win over UPEI Alex had one assist and four shots, while Saturday night in Halifax she registered 5 points in a 6-0 win over Dalhousie. Alex had 8 shots as she scored StFX’s third goal of the game and assisted on four other goals, earning player of the game honors. She had 4 shots against Mount A in their 4-2 victory on Sunday and currently leads the country in scoring with 44 points (12 goals and 32 assists).
